Kindergarten Lead Teacher

Ridgeline Montessori Public Charter School is seeking a kindergarten teacher to join our passionate and experienced teaching team. This position is for our stand-alone kindergarten classroom that feeds our three lower elementary classrooms. Ridgeline Montessori Public Charter School is seeking a kindergarten teacher passionate about Montessori to join our experienced teaching team. This position is for our stand-alone kindergarten classroom that feeds our three lower elementary classrooms. At Ridgeline, all students are entitled to be seen in their school and classroom through diverse and inclusive education. The teacher is their guide, encouraging wonder, love of learning, curiosity, and skill. Montessori teachers also build community beyond the walls of their own classroom.


Ridgeline Montessori was the first public Montessori school in Oregon and has successfully served public K-8 students in Eugene, Oregon since September 2000. The school provides an academically rigorous Montessori education to children from all walks of life. Every day students balance their freedom to explore and think for themselves with their responsibility to work and learn within a community. Ridgeline has strong reading, math, and science proficiency rates as well as high instructional engagement and success with a diversity of students.

Required Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree and any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skill may be considered qualifying. A typical way to obtain required knowledge and skill would be:

  • Montessori Credential for this level (Early Childhood), or

  • Current Oregon Teaching License*, and

  • Experience teaching at assigned grade level, Montessori setting preferred

*Must have the willingness to attend Montessori summer training

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Montessori Elementary training, and or

  • Experience as an assistant in a Montessori classroom

  • Deep understanding of child development

  • Experience with inclusive practices

  • Experience with 25 or more children in a classroom environment

Facilities Coordinator

Application Deadline: April 23, 2021 (or, until filled)

The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for performing or coordinating maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the facilities, equipment, and grounds of Ridgeline Montessori Public Charter School, in consultation with the executive director. Duties include developing short and long-term maintenance plans, managing contracts with outside service providers, recommending improvements, and establishing priorities with respect to the facilities and grounds. The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the Integrated Pest Management Plan, Healthy and Safe Schools Plan, the Radon Plan.


This position is 25 hours per week. Additional hours may be needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum two years of experience in work relating to the care and maintenance of buildings and grounds which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties as described.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Fingerprint background check required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience overseeing service provider contracts

  • Experience with construction management projects preferred.

  • Experience working with schools or other public institutions preferred


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders, use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, twist and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and smell.

The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. The employee must be able to demonstrate strength and dexterity to operate maintenance tools and machinery, cleaning equipment, and hand or power tools.


Pay: $15.00 - $17.39 per hour

Meal Coordinator

Application Deadline: April 19, 2021

Ridgeline is looking for a meal coordinator to help facilitate our meal program. This individual will pick-up prepared meals from 4J’s designated location and deliver them to Ridgeline to be distributed to classroom lunch areas. They will sort the meals into breakfast and lunch while keeping careful track of dietary restrictions. This person will stay in close contact with office staff to ensure accurate numbers for weekly meals.

Qualifications

Valid Oregon driver’s license

Reliable Transportation that can fit the food totes

Must be able to pass a background check

Ability to obtain (if needed) an Oregon Food Handlers Card


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
