Open Positions

Physical Education Specialist

Application Deadline: Monday, November 9, 2020

The PE Specialist works within the school setting delivering services in Physical Education to all Ridgeline students, grades K-8. The PE Specialist is responsible for a comprehensive, standards-based physical education curriculum, classroom management when working with students, and staff/parent relations. During the 2020-21 school year, instruction will be delivered through comprehensive distance learning and possibly some hybrid learning. The Specialist has an interest in the whole school. This position reports to the school principal.

This position is 15 hours per week over a four day period.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in education or specialized area of instruction with equivalent experience or a combination of college credits and equivalent experience.

  2. Experience teaching at assigned grade levels

  3. Current First Aid/CPR certificate, or ability and willingness to obtain certification

  4. Demonstrated experience using technology

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Oregon Certification as a Licensed Teacher, Physical Education endorsement preferred

  2. Some experience with Montessori education

  3. Specialized subject-matter training relevant to assignment

  4. Proficiency with online learning tools (Zoom, Google Classroom, SeeSaw, general tech skills etc.)

  5. Successful work on a team that serves the public


Salary: $22.00 - $25.25 per hour

Floating Assistant

Application Deadline: Monday, November 30, 2020

The floating assistant supports the smooth operation of the educational program in multiple classrooms and in physical education classes. The floating assistant aids in communication between the offices and instructional spaces and helps problem-solve incidents with high-needs students as they arise by helping connect them to office staff, the counselor or administration as appropriate. This position will also act as a substitute classroom assistant if necessary.

This position is .75 FTE (6 hours per day).

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Associate’s degree required or equivalent experience

  2. Demonstrated experience working with children of a variety of ages

  3. Demonstrated experience working in an educational setting

  4. Demonstrated experience using technology

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Some experience with Montessori education

  2. Specialized subject-matter training relevant to assignment

  3. Experience with online learning tools (Zoom, Google Suites, SeeSaw, etc.)

  4. Successful work on a team that serves the public

Salary: $15.00 - $16.39 depending upon experience plus benefits
