School Community Coordinator

Are you a superhero that would like the alter ego of a school community coordinator? Do you like a busy environment with lots of human interaction? Do you love the young and the young at heart? Do you love to help engage the community in events? Do details matter a lot to you?

If you answered yes, come join Ridgeline's office team. The School Community Coordinator serves as the Ridgeline community liaison. This position is responsible for fostering connection, understanding, and cooperation among families, teachers, students, staff and the larger community by establishing and maintaining school communications, planning and managing the school’s volunteer program and coordinating school events. The School Community Coordinator provides administrative support in the front office and is responsible for purchasing. Additionally, student health, welfare, and safety are the foremost priorities of this position.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Associates degree or high school diploma or equivalent and satisfactory combination of experience in community service, social service or related field.

  2. Familiarity with volunteer or community-based programs and experience in recruiting and organizing these resources.

  3. Two years of administrative assistant (or similar) experience

  4. Computer and software knowledge and skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working in a school and/or nonprofit office setting preferred

  2. Experience with the Google Workspace preferred

  3. Familiarity with Synergy or another student information system preferred

Hours:

Full-time, 8 hours per day (This position does not work summer or winter and spring breaks.)

Salary:

$16.13-$23.68 depending upon experience plus benefits

School Counselor

Ridgeline Montessori Public Charter School is seeking a full-time school counselor to join our community this school year. The school counselor meets with students to help process feelings and solve problems. They check in to classrooms regularly to understand the dynamics within each smaller community and to support the students and teaching staff. They provide social/emotional lessons to students and classrooms. The Ridgeline counselor serves as a hub of information within the school, connecting staff, families, and outside agencies to work together for students’ success. They also assist administration in handling student behavior positively and fairly, in coordinating meetings with parents, acting as the 504 coordinator, and in helping to communicate the mission, vision, and values of the school.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Valid Oregon Teaching License with an endorsement in counseling or

  2. The ability to obtain an Oregon Restricted School Counselor License which requires a bachelor’s degree or higher and one of the following

    1. Enrollment in a school counselor program and completion of 50% of the program or

    2. Three academic years as a full-time certified Child Development Specialist (CDS) or

    3. A master’s degree in a counseling-related field.

  3. Expertise to assist students in effectively reflecting on and developing alternate solutions to behavioral, educational, social, and emotional problems and concerns

  4. Ability to work with and sincere appreciation for the diversity of parenting styles, cultures, beliefs, and family structures represented in our community

  5. Understanding of child development and developmental stages

  6. Experience differentiating practices for diverse populations

  7. Ability to maintain liaisons with social service and youth service agencies in pursuing referral follow-up activities

  8. Ability to establish, maintain, and monitor the maintenance of a variety of files and records pertaining to student counseling, guidance, and related matters

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Two years of successful school counseling experience

  2. Experience working with kindergarten through 8th-grade students

Hours: Full-time

Salary: $40,000-$65,000 with a $5,000 hiring bonus

Substitutes

Application Deadline: On-going

We are looking to grow our substitute pool. With two adults in the Montessori classroom, substitutes are brought into the classroom in the role of the classroom assistant. In this role, they help to support the classroom as directed by the staff member leading the class. Substitutes may be booked for pre-planned staff absences or for same-day assignments.


Duties may include: assist with classroom management, guiding students during the work period to make successful choices and stay engaged, recess supervision, arrival, and dismissal, etc.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an educational setting

  • Strong communication skills

Required

  • Fingerprint and background check required

  • Willingness to complete the required training


Pay: $13.00/per hour
