Job Title: Upper Elementary Teacher, Applicant Pool

Job Description

Summary: The teacher is responsible for curriculum, classroom management, parent relations, and special services. The teacher has an interest in the whole school as well as her/his own classroom. There are three upper elementary classrooms at Ridgeline, each serving 29 4th-6th grade students.  

Please note: This is a posting for an applicant pool, not for an immediate opening.

Each of the three upper elementary teachers at Ridgeline has a full-time classroom assistant in her/his classroom.

Starting Salary: $31,705 - $38,000 DOE + benefits and full-time classroom assistant.

Required Qualifications:
  • Montessori credential or Oregon teaching license
  • Experience teaching elementary school students
  • Understanding of child development and the Montessori philosophy
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Montessori Elementary I-II training, and/or
  • Montessori training in early childhood, and/or
  • Experience as an assistant in a Montessori classroom
The mission of Ridgeline Montessori is to provide a challenging academic program based on the educational philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori. The Montessori approach balances two interdependent elements: the students' freedom to explore and think for themselves, and their responsibility to work and learn within a community.

Ridgeline Montessori Public Charter School is located in beautiful Eugene, Oregon. It opened in the fall of 2000. In 2015-2016, we are serving approximately 250 students in grades K-8 in eight classrooms.
