Floating Assistant

Ridgeline seeks a part-time floating assistant.  The successful candidate will have experience working with groups of children, an understanding of school operations, and excellent communication skills.  They will be able to manage their time effectively while being responsive to the sometimes-unpredictable needs of classrooms and children. They will also spend time assisting with PE activities in the gym.  


Job Description:


            The floating assistant supports the smooth operation of the educational program in multiple instructional spaces by attending to details which free instructional staff to plan, meet with administration or counseling, or take breaks.  The floating assistant aids in communication between the offices and instructional spaces and helps problem solve incidents with high-needs students as they arise.


4 hours/day


Minimum Qualifications


  1. Associate’s degree required, advanced study in education strongly preferred

  2. Demonstrated experience working with children of a variety of ages

  3. Demonstrated experience working in an educational setting

  4. Fingerprint and background check required

  5. Some experience with Montessori education is strongly preferred

  6. Specialized subject matter training relevant to assignment is desirable

Part-time Facilities Coordinator

Ridgeline seeks a part-time facilities coordinator to direct and perform the maintenance, repair and upkeep of the facilities, equipment and grounds of Ridgeline Montessori Public Charter School, in consultation with the executive director.  Duties include developing short and long-term maintenance plans, managing contracts with outside vendors, recommending improvements and establishing priorities with respect to the facilities and grounds. The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for implementation of the Integrated Pest Management Plan, Healthy and Safe Schools Plan, the Radon Plan and assists with facility rentals.


$13.50-$15.00 DOE, 4 hours/day


Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent sufficient to provide the ability to read, write and comprehend at a level consistent with the requirements of this position.
  • Minimum two years of experience in work relating to the care and maintenance of buildings and grounds which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties as described.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license

Job Title: Upper Elementary Teacher, Applicant Pool

Job Description

Summary: The teacher is responsible for curriculum, classroom management, parent relations, and special services. The teacher has an interest in the whole school as well as her/his own classroom. There are three upper elementary classrooms at Ridgeline, each serving 29 4th-6th grade students.  

Please note: This is a posting for an applicant pool, not for an immediate opening.

Each of the three upper elementary teachers at Ridgeline has a full-time classroom assistant in her/his classroom.

Starting Salary: $31,705 - $38,000 DOE + benefits and full-time classroom assistant.

Required Qualifications:
  • Montessori credential or Oregon teaching license
  • Experience teaching elementary school students
  • Understanding of child development and the Montessori philosophy
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Montessori Elementary I-II training, and/or
  • Montessori training in early childhood, and/or
  • Experience as an assistant in a Montessori classroom
