Upper Elementary Classroom Assistant

Ridgeline Montessori Public Charter School seeks a lower elementary classroom assistant (grades 4-6) to join our passionate and experienced staff. The assistant is an integral part of the classroom’s instructional team. This position is full-time (7 hours per day) for one of our three established mixed-age lower elementary classrooms.

The classroom assistant works under the direct supervision of the assigned classroom teacher and general supervision of school administrators. The primary role of the assistant is to collaboratively supervise and support students and help maintain a positive climate.

This position is full-time (7 hours per day) and would start in August 2020.


Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Associates degree or equivalent
  2. Experience working in an educational setting
  3. Experience working with children in grades 4-6

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience working in a Montessori setting
  2. Specialized subject-matter training relevant to assignment is desirable
  3. Successful work on a team that serves the public
Salary: $13.64 - $14.90 depending upon experience plus benefits

Middle School Classroom Assistant

The classroom assistant works under the direct supervision of the assigned classroom teacher and general supervision of school administrators. The primary role of the assistant is to collaboratively supervise and support students and help maintain a positive climate.

This position is full-time (7 hours per day) and would start in August 2020.


Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  2. Experience working in an educational setting
  3. Experience working with children in grades 7-8
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience working in a Montessori setting
  2. Specialized subject-matter training and experience relevant to math science is desirable
  3. Successful work on a team that serves the public
Salary: $14.05 - $15.35 depending upon experience plus benefits

School Counselor

Job Description:

Ridgeline Montessori Public Charter School is seeking a full-time school counselor to join our community beginning in the 2020-2021 school year. The school counselor meets with students to help process feelings and solve problems. They check in to classrooms regularly to understand the dynamics within each smaller community and to support the students and teaching staff. The Ridgeline counselor serves as a hub of information within the school, connecting staff, families, and outside agencies to work together for students’ success. They also assist administration in handling student behavior positively and fairly, in coordinating meetings with parents, and in helping to communicate the mission, vision, and values of the school.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Valid Oregon Teaching License with an endorsement in counseling

  2. Expertise to assist students in effectively reflecting on and developing alternate solutions to behavioral, educational, social, and emotional problems and concerns

  3. Ability to work with and sincere appreciation for the diversity of parenting styles, cultures, beliefs, and family structures represented in our community

  4. Understanding of child development and developmental stages

  5. Experience differentiating practices for diverse populations

  6. Ability to maintain liaisons with social service and youth service agencies in pursuing referral follow-up activities

  7. Ability to establish, maintain, and monitor the maintenance of a variety of files and records pertaining to student counseling, guidance, and related matters

Preferred  Qualifications:

  1. Two years of successful school counseling experience

  2. Experience working with kindergarten through 8th-grade students

Hours: Full-time

Salary: $35,304-$41,728 (based on 2019–20 salary schedule, which is under review)
