As an important part of our school community, each family at Ridgeline has committed to 40 hours of volunteer time. Ridgeline Montessori is an amazing community of committed and caring families. We rely on parent involvement to organize, facilitate, and participate in a wide variety of activities. Not only does volunteering enrich the educational environment for our students, it also brings us together as a community. Welcome to Ridgeline and the volunteer community! How can I help? The possibilities are endless! Here is a sampling of the HUGE list of activities that our parents help out with:
What's required?
If you will be driving students, you'll need to submit a completed auto insurance form along with appropriate documents as requested. How do I find out about volunteer opportunities?
Why do I need to sign in and record my hours? How do I do it?Whenever parents or other family members put in volunteer time at Ridgeline we want to know about it! This is very important especially when we are applying for grant monies. The greater the participation and support for our school that we can document, the greater chances we have of receiving grants. Even when you reach your 40 hour goal, please continue to record your hours! Last year our families logged over 10,000 hours! In the Willard office there is a volunteer record file cabinet. In it you will find a file folder with your family’s name on it and a volunteer log sheet inside. In the Dunn office there is a binder with volunteer log sheets. Please record all volunteer activities on this sheet, writing down the type of activity and the number of hours devoted to it. (We have a parent who is in charge of tracking the volunteer hours and breaking it down by category so that we can see what percentage of our parent’s time is spent where). To volunteer with students or at school during school hours you need to have an approved background check. Forms are available in the office. Once you are cleared, you will receive a green name tag. Keep this in your volunteer folder at Willard or in the volunteer binder at Dunn, and wear it whenever you volunteer. If you do not have your name tag, you will need to be escorted throughout the building. THANK YOU FOR JOINING THE RIDGELINE VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY! WE LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH YOU. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask. |
