Help Support Students and Safety -. Staff member, Clark Hannahs fills in on crossing guard shifts not covered by volunteers, taking time away from his prep time and work with students. We are still looking for crossing guards Monday and Friday mornings and Monday and Thursday afternoons. Being a crossing guard is a fabulous way to help ensure our student’s safety as they cross the street. You can also get fresh winter air, and of course log volunteer hours! Sign up here

STILL NEEDED! At Home Sewing Project-  We need a volunteer to measure the bookcases in the loft, and hem curtains to fit the length of each bookcase.  If you are interested in this project, please contact Yaeko

Middle School Information Session - Ridgeline's K-8 program is carefully crafted to prepare our students not just for academic success, but success in life. The transition from a small, interactive K-8 community to the long halls and packed classrooms of the mainstream high school can be daunting. Our Middle School team does an outstanding job of putting the finishing touches on our students' education at Ridgeline to make sure they are ready for the social and academic challenges of high school and adulthood.

Thursday, February 6, from 6-7:30 p.m., in room 7 at Ridgeline, our Middle School teachers, Jon Labrousse and Carrie Culliton will give a special presentation for Ridgeline's Upper Elementary families and students to learn more about the powerful, empowering Middle School Experience at Ridgeline.

Talent Show Thank You - A huge thank you to Kate Downing and her husband Nathan Moore for all their work on the Talent Show. Thank you to Rachael Young on lights, Saxon Wood on sound and Christine Bender for set-up help. Also thank you to the upper-el kids who hosted and did stagehand.  It was a lovely event with so many fun talents and a packed house full of enthusiasm. Thank you to everyone who helped clean up and India and the middle schoolers who made the refreshments.

More Results Needed! Transportation Survey - We have only had 22 responses so far. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey. The Transportation Committee would really like to know how our families get to and from school!

As part of Safe Routes to School program we need to evaluate student transportation. We ask that you take a few minutes to fill out our Parent Survey for Ridgeline to help us as we work to improve the safety for students to walk, bike and roll to school. This link is specific for your school. If you have more than one student at this school please fill out one for the older student only. If you have students at more than one school please fill out one for each school you receive a link for. Thank you for your time!

CONTINUING NEWS -

Come Play!  Ridgeline Family Game Night on February 21 -  All Ridgeline families are invited to join us for this all-age community event.  There will be all sorts of games to play, and friends a plenty with whom to play them!  For those coming straight from work or tired after a long week, there will be food trucks serving food, coffee, and hot chocolate!

Our Family Game Night will also serve as the formal kick-off event for our our annual month-long Direct Donation Drive (also known as the "DDD").  From February 21 - March 20, while we work together towards our DDD fundraising goal, we will celebrate and talk about the many important programs, materials, and spaces that your financial contributions provide here at Ridgeline.  If you haven't already made your annual donation, please consider doing so at Game Night (via cash, check or credit card) and help us get a head start on our DDD goal!

Planning for this event is actively underway so please keep an eye on the eNews in the coming weeks for more details!

Safe Routes to School - February is “Be Safe. Be Seen.” Month

Wednesday, February 5th is our monthly Walk & Roll to School Day! This month’s theme is “Be Safe, Be Seen.” Walking or biking to school or elsewhere is a chance to practice road safety skills like looking both ways before crossing the street; paying attention to traffic; and acting in a predictable manner. Best of all, it’s a time to be playful, connect, and have fun together!

We encourage everyone to walk, bike, carpool or ride the bus to school. When you do so, it is great to wear bright or reflective items of clothing and lights in addition to practicing safely getting to and from school. If you live a long way from school, try parking a ten minute walk from school and walking the rest of the way. It will wake up your child’s brain for learning and you’ll avoid the parking lot traffic!
