Calendar in the eNews - Beginning this week we have removed the month long calendar of events in the enews. Please make a habit of checking the Ridgeline google calendar for all school events. You can even add Ridgeline’s public Google calendar to your calendars. Descriptions will be added to events on the calendar over the next few weeks. This is a great place for new families to learn about upcoming events like the Jog-a-thon, Barnes & Noble Bookfair, and Stone Soup.

Alternative Transportation Committee - Are you passionate about biking, walking, and other alternative modes of transportation? We would love to hear from you and have you join our alternative transportation committee. We organize the annual bike & walk to school day activities both in October and May, and any other projects and activities that the group wishes to organize. Contact Cynthia if you would like to participate.

Monthly Fundraising Progress Update: Our goal this year is to raise $100,000 to support our students and our school. The Fundraising Committee will be sharing periodic fundraising progress updates with our school community via eNews as we work toward our goal.  As of September 5, our fundraising progress is as follows:

Fundraising goal:  $100,000.00

Already raised: $2,453.92

Still need to raise: $97,546.08

Help us reach our goal by becoming a monthly donor and participating in upcoming fundraisers like the Jog-a-thon!  Thank you for your support!

Active Yellow Jacket Nest - Tis the season of angry yellow jackets. Unfortunately, a few kids were stung today before we found and blocked off the area on the north playground where the ground nest is located. Please let your student know and use caution in the area. A licensed company will spray on Friday after dismissal so the playground will be ready for full use on Monday.

CONTINUING NEWS -

Monthly Donor Challenge- Thank you to our new and returning Monthly Donors!  For every new or increased monthly donation made before September 30, a generous donor will donate an additional $50 after the third installment is made.  If we reach 25 donors, we'll receive an additional $250 for a grand total of $1,500! Spread out your contribution over the year and help us get a head start on this year's fundraising goal!  Click here to become a Monthly Donor today

RCO Movie Night! - Back by popular demand! Join us for RCO Movie Night on Friday, September 13 for a screening of The Muppet Movie in the Ridgeline Gym. Popcorn, drinks, and candy will be available for purchase, with all proceeds benefiting our school. You are also welcome to bring your own snacks! Movie starts at 6 pm, gym opens at 5:45 pm. If you are interested in volunteering for the event, visit the Track It Forward site or email rco@ridgeline.org

Movie Night Volunteers - RCO is looking for volunteers to help with their upcoming Movie Night on Friday, September 13th. We need a popcorn maker, 2-3 people working concessions, and a few people to help us set up the gym and clean up after the movie. Click here to volunteer! https://www.trackitforward.com/site/426770/event/494378

Jog-a-thon is coming! - 50 volunteers needed! Sign up today to help with this fun all-school event. The Jog-a-thon is Friday, September 27th.  If you're interested in volunteering, sign up to volunteer the day of the jog-a-thon here. Sign up to volunteer the night before here.

Colored Pencil Organizer - We are in need of a volunteer to sort class packs of colored pencils. Staff have used parts of several class packs and we need someone to sort these. This can be done here at school or picked up and taken home.

Absence Notification - If your child must miss school please contact the office and let us know by 8:30 a.m. You may call us at 541-681-9662 or email attendance@ridgeline.org. Remember to give us a reason for the absence so we can code it correctly (ie. sick, parent request, medical appointment, injury, bereavement, etc.). If you do not contact us, your child will be marked as an unexcused absence and you will receive an attendance phone call and email.

Planned Absence – This is a reminder to avoid planned absences whenever possible. It is likely that the planned absence will accumulate with regular sick days and may lead to chronic absenteeism. We sincerely want all of our students to benefit from all the learning opportunities that regular attendance provides. Some life situations are simply unavoidable...  If you must take a planned absence, please plan well in advance. Fill out the planned absence request form for review and approval by Principal Michelle. Planned Absence Request Form

New Families – Welcome to Ridgeline! We are so excited to have you join the Ridgeline community. We know that these first few weeks, as you learn about our community, can be overwhelming. Please do not hesitate to contact anyone in the office if you have questions! And feel free to ask the same question more than once. We will be offering a New Family “Ridgeline 101” Meeting on Tuesday, September 10, 6-7:30pm. This is the perfect opportunity to learn all the ins and outs of being a Ridgeline parent and have your questions answered. Limited childcare is available for toilet-trained children. Sign up here.

Pre-Arrange Play Dates/Pick Up – We know that students are excited to see their friends after the long summer break! Please remember to plan play dates in advance and not during the school day. Honoring the classroom community with as few interruptions as possible is part of the Montessori educational experience, we value for our students and staff. If your child will be going home with someone other than you, please send a note for the teacher. We will not release your child to another family without your permission. If you forget to send a note, you may call the office at 541-681-9662.
