Traveling for the Holidays? - The last day of school before winter break is December 21. We expect that all students will be in attendance until 1:05 pm that day. If your family will be travelling and missing school during that week in December, or in January when we return, please remember to fill out the Planned Absence Request Form

End of Year Donations - If you are looking for a meaningful holiday tribute to a teacher, student, or loved one, or if you’re seeking a worthy recipient for your year-end charitable giving, please consider a gift to Ridgeline! Donations can be made at:

Your gift supports Ridgeline’s PE, arts, and counseling specialists, classroom materials, Montessori program enrichment, and the building that our community calls home. It’s impact will last a lifetime!

Joy of Sharing – Each year we have a food drive before winter break. Ridgeline families bring in donations of non-perishable food, toilet paper, and other personal hygiene items. Boxes are then created for Ridgeline families who can use a little extra help over winter break. We will be making the boxes on Thursday, December 20. Please let us know if your family would benefit from receiving a Joy of Sharing box; contact the office and we’ll put you on the list. Donation boxes will be placed in the lobby the last week before winter break.

Shoe Drive - From Dec 8-14 we will be holding a ONE WEEK pre-collection period for the Shoe Drive (Student Marketplace and during the school week), collection boxes will return in January.  Shoes should have intact soles, no holes/tears, and be in good wearable condition. Look for flyers and other materials after the winter break to help you expand your shoe collecting successes and impact!

Ridgeline Holiday Tree Fundraiser – 43111 McKenzie Hwy., Leaburg, 541-896-3483. Purchase your holiday tree at Spring Creek Holly Farm and 50% of the proceeds will be donated to Ridgeline! Tell them at the farm when you purchase your tree that you would like to donate to Ridgeline. Noble Firs are locally grown at Spring Creek Holly Farm and at their wholesale facility, Whitewater Ranch, using low-impact and sustainable farming practices. They have pre-cut trees, or you can choose and cut your own. They also offer handmade holly wreaths, table decorations and bulk greens. Start a new holiday tradition, take a drive down the beautiful McKenzie Highway, enjoy a cup of hot apple cider, and support Ridgeline! Spring Creek Holly Farm is open until December 23 from 9am to 5pm every day of the week

Book Covering Volunteers Needed - Now that we have all these amazing new books for the classrooms we need help preparing them. Volunteers are needed to cover book covers with contact paper and stamp them. If you are a detail oriented person who can cut a straight line, we would love to have your help! Contact the office or stop by to volunteer.

Portable CD Players Needed - Do you have any of those old portable CD players in your cupboards? You know, the ones you played music on before the invention of the ipod. We would love to have some for students. Please bring any portable CD player donations to the office.

Winter Weather: Snow Day Information

In the case of inclement weather that would make roads, school parking lots, driveways or sidewalks unsafe for travel, Ridgeline Montessori Public Charter School will be closed when the 4J school district is closed. If Ridgeline is scheduled to be in session, and no announcement is made, school is still in schedule as planned.

Ridgeline Montessori will delay opening when 4J schools are scheduled to open on a delayed schedule.

Ridgeline Montessori Public Charter School may be in session on a day when 4J happens to be already out of session. In this case, Ridgeline Montessori Public Charter School will make the announcement on our website,

Ridgeline Montessori Public Charter School values safety. Neither 4J nor Ridgeline can make a decision based on conditions near individual families or staff. Families and staff are encouraged to consider road and sidewalk conditions in their areas and make decisions based on safety. Ridgeline Montessori honors parents’ decisions about school attendance in these conditions. Staff members should contact the school and exercise leave options available to them when they believe they are unable to get to work safely.

Snow day notifications: Our school district communicates any decision to change school or bus schedules as quickly as possible in several ways, all well before 6:30 a.m.

No news = No change. If schools and buses are on their regular schedule, there will NOT be an announcement.

School Closure = No school for students. Decision about afternoon/evening activities will be made by noon.

Two-Hour Delay: School starts two hours late and ends at the usual school dismissal time. If a delay occurs on an early release Friday, school will still be dismissed at the early release time.
