Sharon's Weekly Update 9-25-15

posted Sep 25, 2015, 1:44 PM by Cynthia Friedman

Hello, Room 7!

This week has been a good one! We have begun in earnest our planetary research for the NUGYRO system. Most students are learning new concepts in math and grammar. We practice writing every day, and we are just completing "Partner Interviews," where students interviewed each other and are writing paragraphs about their classmates. Finally, nearly everyone in the class is finished with the district testing!

Please allow your students to bring spare change to the classroom for collection. Room 7 is working with many of the other Ridgeline classrooms to collect money to help child refugees through UNICEF!

We are still missing a few cups for the classroom. Having water glasses in the classroom helps our students to stay on task during the work cycle and to transition faster after PE and recess. Please make sure your student has a water cup in the classroom!

Thank you so much to the families who have brought plants for our experiments!

Room 7 is currently looking for potholder looms and potholder loops (the stretchy fabric kind) for students to work on during read-aloud time. If you have this equipment at home and it is not being used, we would greatly appreciate the donation. Additionally, if you are interested in teaching lessons in any other handwork (knitting, crochet, embroidery, beading), please let us know!
