Sharon's Weekly Update 3-22-17

posted Mar 22, 2017, 9:44 AM by Cynthia Friedman

Hello, Room 9 families!

This Thursday, we will be visiting the Gordon house in Silverton to learn about Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture. A huge thank you to Shula Jaron, Rich Bremer, Tom Teutsch, Sarib Singh, and Erin McKercher, who are willing to drive -- we now have our drivers covered!

Please send toilet paper tubes to the classroom for a project in mindfulness (and then for an art project for National Geographic's World Record attempt!). Depending on the number of donations, we will attempt this project before or after Spring Break.

If you have a new or used convection toaster oven (or are willing to purchase one for the classroom), PLEASE, please let me know. I have many eager chefs, and this will fit perfectly with our new unit on Ancient Nutrition and Health. I will also take donations for purchasing a new convection oven, as well as any ingredients you are interested in sharing. In particular, I would LOVE to have unusual flours (spelt, amaranth, kamut, rye, or anything else you have found that is interesting).

Spring break begins next Monday, Mar. 27. School resumes April 3. When we resume, Room 9 will have a new dance instructor for our Friday morning art exploration.

Have a splendid break! I will see you on April 3!
