Sharon's Weekly Update 3-10-17

posted Mar 10, 2017, 12:20 PM by Cynthia Friedman
We are PLANNING A FIELD TRIP for Thursday, March 23rd to visit the Gordon House in Silverton, and we NEED DRIVERS! If you can drive and chaperone for this event, PLEASE let me or Cynthia know. We will be leaving Ridgeline at 9am and returning by 3pm for an 11am tour, with lunch at a nearby park. Please join us!

Room 9 has the opportunity to work with Vic Hansen, who supervised last year's totem project! Vic is asking Room 9 students and parents to help restore two totem poles from other places in Eugene. The poles are projected to be delivered before Spring Break. Can you help? Parents would be most appreciated for supervising on Fridays and after school.

Ask your student about this week's geometry. 6th year students are comparing water bottle sizes using the volume of a cylinder. 5th year students used a grapefruit to find the area of a circle, and 4th year students are learning about the area of a triangle by comparing it to a grilled cheese sandwich. Perhaps your student would like to make sandwiches at home!

SPRING BREAK is Mar. 27-31. We will return to school on MONDAY, APRIL 3. Please note that this is a change from our previous schedule due to hazardous weather.
