Sharon's Weekly Update 2-15-16

posted Feb 25, 2016, 1:20 PM by Cynthia Friedman

This week, Room 7 students have been eating lunch outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. On Tuesday during lunch, we visited with Brenda and Joe Brainard, who head the 4j NATIVES program. They are stripping bark from the tree that the upper elementary will use to carve a totem pole!

Next week, the University of Oregon students will wrap up their presentations about science fair projects. Project Fair is scheduled for late April. Please talk with your student about science or history research projects they would like to present. If your student would like to present at the University's Science and Invention fair, please visit to find out more information. Display boards are available for purchase in the office.

Students in Room 7 have been asking about an end-of-year overnight trip. If you are interested in helping to plan this trip, please contact me.

Many students have been planning individualized field trips, or "Going Out" activities, this week. If your student is planning a "Going Out," you will receive all pertinent information (name of chaperoning adult, date, cost, and other students traveling) on their permission slip. Parents who are asked to drive for a "Going Out" must be cleared with the office to drive Ridgeline students (background check, drivers' registration and current insurance on file). The "Going Out" will NOT BE APPROVED until authorized parent chaperones are added to a student's plan.

The pre-lottery information session is this Saturday, Feb 27 at 10am. All CURRENT UPPER ELEMENTARY families are invited to learn more about middle school at 10:45. I hope to see you there!
