Sharon's Weekly Update 12-3-15

posted Dec 3, 2015, 12:39 PM by Cynthia Friedman
Hello, Room 7 families!

I hope you had a fantastic break. Thank you so much for contributing to our Stone Soup celebration and to the Book Fair. In particular, we want to give a huge shout-out to Eduardo Tapia, who helped students cut vegetables for Stone Soup. We are grateful for you!

Last week was a catch-up week, where students prepared for our NUGYRO launch (taking place yesterday!) and finished straggling projects. This week we will move into the travel part of our space adventure! Students have been challenged to discover the metaphorical meaning behind our NUGYRO studies. Please encourage your student to explore their hypotheses through authoritative sources.

We are looking for 4 volunteers to join us on a December trip to the Science Factory. We plan to travel on Dec. 10. Please email me if you are able to help us go out into the community. Each student will need to bring a travel-worthy lunch and snack, as well as $8.50 for bus fare and museum entrance.

If your family celebrates the holidays with a tree, consider visiting Akal Ranch in Pleasant Hill for your tree this year. This U-Cut farm is helping Ridgeline with a tree fundraiser. I hope to see you there!

Please watch the school-wide email for details on how to participate in the Joy of Sharing. Students in Room 7 are making greeting cards as part of the event.
