Sharon's Weekly Update 1-11-15

posted Jan 13, 2016, 1:35 PM by Cynthia Friedman

Hello, Room 7 families!

This week, Room 7 students have been working on painting onions to demonstrate the layers of the atmosphere and the composition of the earth. Stop by the classroom if you want a whiff! We are also working on timelines of the earth and of human civilization. 4th and 5th graders have begun to explore prepositions, while 6th graders are outlining their Big Projects.

Ridgeline’s enrollment lottery is coming up! If you know any families interested in Montessori education, please share the word. Prospective parents can call the office to register if they need childcare for one of two information sessions: THURS, FEB 4 at 6:30 pm, and SAT, FEB 27 at 10:00 am.

Our second semester schedule will begin on Feb 2. The new schedule has PE on MONDAYS and WEDNESDAYS, and music on Tuesdays. Please make sure that your student comes to school with appropriate footwear.

Speaking of footwear -- It’s that muddy time of year again! If your student wears RAIN BOOTS for recess (which is a great idea!) then it is helpful to send a second pair of shoes for class time. We will be discussing whether to start using indoor shoes at Community Meeting on Friday.

OBOB for grades 3-5 is now meeting every Friday after school.

There is no school on Mon. Jan 18th due to Martin Luther King, Jr. day.
