Welcome (back) to Room 9

Classroom Happenings I hope everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing summer.  These first couple weeks of school have been filled with group activities to get to know each other and create the community we all want in the classroom.  Choose Kindness is the motto Adriene and I put on the wall this year and we are looking forward to expanding this idea with your students and building on the great beginning we’ve already had.  History is off and running with the 3rd Great Lesson “Coming of Humans.” Students have started their first research project of many this year. Fantastic project ideas are already in the happening!  Ask your student what they are researching and what their project is going to be.

Remember P.E. is on Monday and Wednesday this year.  Please send your student with appropriate P.E. shoes.  No sandals, boots, or any kind of heel.

Also please send your students prepared for the weather so we can continue to enjoy outdoor recess.  This includes a rain jacket when necessary and rain boots if possible. It’s hard to focus when your hair is dripping onto your work and your clothes are wet and cold!

Parent Night will be September 17th at 6 P.M.  I hope to see you all there!

One mission, One Vision, One School, One Community

The year is just beginning and it is a great time to build great habits!  Being in school, on time, every day is important. Good attendance is strongly linked to academic, social, and emotional success.

We believe that students and families that feel they are included in the school community are more likely to show up consistently

We believe that good attendance will allow your child to fully contribute to and fully benefit from the classroom community.

We believe good attendance will not only build strong academics, but also build strong socially and emotionally capable humans.

Thank you for learning and growing with us!
