Meridy's Update 4-19-19

posted Apr 19, 2019, 10:10 AM by Cynthia Friedman

This week in Room 9!  Ridgeline Room 9 has been busy with projects!  Students are making characters and writing their hopes and dreams (or fears) for the Oregon Trail.  We will be gathering in Independence, Missouri next week to gather supplies and pack the wagons. In science, students have been preparing for their biome research project by doing a little of what I call “pre-research” to figure out which biome they want to learn about in depth.  Next week also begins state testing, so help your student prepare with nutritious snacks and lots of rest!

Project Fair  is Tuesday, April 23rd!   3:05-4:05 P.M. and 6-7 P.M.  Students are coming up with fun ideas to showcase at project fair this year.  We’ve got a range, from Oregon trail related research to a scale model particle accelerator! What is your student doing?

Tea in the classroom  I have had many students asking me if they can drink tea during class time, and the answer is yes!  I am perfectly fine with them drinking tea if they bring their own (my tea stores are running low). Please check with your student to see if they are interested.  We still have some rain in the forecast which makes for a tea drinking mood.

THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS! - Once again a big shout out to all our amazing volunteers! We so appreciate all the time you give to Ridgeline, to the students, the staff, and our community. Thank you! Thank you!
