Dear Middle School Family,

Yes, the Deadline for student work for my classes was last Friday, May 27.  Yes, I'm flexible.  Students need to bring "missing" work directly to me at this point, and we'll get them fixed up.  No problem.

The main thing I want to address this week is the Adventure Trip.  Permission Forms will be coming home this week with all the details.  Here they are in advance:

Adventure Trip!

8:40am, Monday, June 13: Students are at Ridgeline for Gear Check and Loading.

3:00pm, Thursday, June 16: Parents are at Ridgeline, ready to pick up their students.  (Please be on time. Pretty please.)

Students need to bring a ready-made lunch for Monday, June 13.

We will prepare all meals at camp for the rest of the trip.

Vegetarian options will always be available at meals.

Send Healthy snacks with your child for between meals for the week.

If your child has strict dietary restrictions, You are responsible for providing food for your child for the week.

We're sleeping in tents.  If you have a tent that you can lend to the group, please e-mail me and let me know how many people can comfortably sleep in it.  We have 41 students to provide shelter for!

The adults will be bringing and sleeping in their own tents.  (Unless they're insane like Carrie with her massive sanctuary.)

The weather should be mild. Your child needs to bring a sleeping bag, a sleeping mat would be nice, 4 pairs of underwear, 4 pairs of socks, at least 2 pairs of pants/shorts, 2 shirts, at least 1 warm top (sweatshirt, sweater), and a water-resistant or water-proof coat.

Soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, washcloth, towel.  Healthy snacks (You know how much food your kid needs...).

We're staying at the Sutton Campground just north of Florence.  There's running water and bathrooms, but no showers.  We're planning to Sandboard at Honeyman on Wednesday, where showers are available.

Our camping site has a huge covered picnic shelter, and a really nice field for tents and play.

We're still finalizing our options, but our main activities are set: we're going to definitely do a 6 mile hike on Tuesday through bogs and sand dunes, including a stretch down to the beach, where we'll do clean-up work.

We're going to spend all day Wednesday on the Dunes, sandboarding. So fun!

The kids will prepare meals in teams, and organize all kinds of games and activities.

We're going to have a blast.

Watch for the  permission packets coming home this week.
