Dear Middle School Family,
This is it! The grand finale is coming up! Here are the details:
End of Year Picnic/Outdoor Classroom Dedication The Ridgeline Ukulele Extravaganza has been asked to perform a couple of songs for the Outdoor Classroom Dedication ceremony on Thursday, May 29. The ceremony will begin at 6:30. It should be a lot of fun, and will be our last uke performance of the year.
Eighth Grade Graduation Ceremony Thursday, June 5, 6:30-8:30pm The ceremony will take place at Ridgeline. Carrying on the tradition of past years, we'll start with the ceremony itself, followed by an Ice Cream Social with entertainment provided by the Graduates.
The seventh grade parents will host the Ice Cream Social (Organize and serve ice cream, basically), and decorate the gym (unless we do it outside this year!). I can't find my notes! I know that Janene (India's Mom) and Mackenzie (Finn's Mom) volunteered to take on the Ice Cream Social. If you'd like to join the team, please zap me an e-mail, and I will forward you on to them.
It's a fun, heart-warming event.
Adventure Trip to Honeyman Park Monday, June 9-Thursday, June 12 We will meet at school on Monday at the normal time, 8:40am, and be back by the end of the school day, Thursday, June 12 by 3:15pm.
Permission slips and packing lists and all the details will be coming home next week. The cost for each student for the trip will be $100. This includes the cost of transportation and the campgrounds, as well as activities and food for 4 days and three nights. Scholarships are available. Please contact Kayla in the office for information. Our goal for the trip is 100% participation.
We've reserved 2 giant group campgrounds at Honeyman, right on the lake. We'll be tent camping, so if you have a tent we can use, please let me know. We'll also need coolers, and ice, and all that fun stuff. Those details will be in the packet next week. I just wanted to get you started thinking about it....
If for some reason, your student will NOT be attending the Adventure Trip, please let me know as soon as possible, so I can make arrangements for them to stay back at school (school is still in session, and they are required to attend).
Have a fun-filled long weekend (no school Monday!),
Jon and Carrie |
