Monday, June 9-Thurs., June 12: MS Adventure Trip to Honeyman Park

Dear Middle School Family,
Help. We have many important events coming up that require help from our Middle School Parents to succeed. Here they are:

Adventure Trip to Honeyman Park
The Adventure Trip is one of the highlights of the year. We have two group campsites reserved at Honeyman Park from June 9-12 (Monday through Thursday).

Our Parent chaperones have come through once again, so the trip is a definite go! Thank you Amary (Quinlan's mom), Dave (Allison's dad), Ken (Shoshana's dad), and Janene (India's mom) for choosing to join us on our adventure. Thanks, also, to those of you who offered to help out with shopping and transportation to and from. (We'll certainly be in touch.)

If you can make it out to join us, even for a day, you won't regret it. We're working to schedule a beach clean-up; we'll hit the tide pools in Yachats, do some sandboarding in the dunes... The main goal for the trip is social closure. We've all worked really hard this year, and we've grown quite close. I can't think of a better way to end the year than in each other's company, having the time of our lives!

Photos for 8th Grade Graduation
We've only received photos for one 8th Grader! Please send in up to 30 pictures (from birth to now) on a flash drive, or share them with
shoshana.rosemarin@ridgeline.org on Dropbox or Google Docs. The students have only 3 more Studio work periods to put the slideshow together before graduation! Please help ASAP! Some of our graduates are new to Ridgeline this year, so we don't have any photos, except from this year. It's not Graduation without embarrassingly adorable photos of the 8th graders.

Tuesday, May 20 Music Showcase at Churchill High School
As you have undoubtedly heard by now, our beloved music teacher, Jennifer Searl, will not be returning to Ridgeline next school year. The Music Showcase at the Churchill Auditorium is not only a chance for our uke players to show off their mad skills, it's also an opportunity for us all to show our gratitude for Jennifer and all she's done for our students. Our ukulele program is successful largely because of the strong musical foundation our students have received here at Ridgeline with Jennifer.

Please encourage your student to participate. (They don't need to participate in the after school rehearsals to participate in this concert.)

Please join us for the performance. It's going to be a blast. Tuesday, May 20 from 6:30-8:00pm. Students need to be there by 5:45pm for staging rehearsal. (The middle school ukesters are woven through the entire program, starting at about 6:50pm)

Friday, May 23 Ukulele Jam at Cozmic Pizza
Once again, the Ridgeline Ukulele Extravaganza (Our after school rehearsing performance group) is going to rock Cozmic Pizza. The program runs from 5:30-8:00pm. Ridgeline goes on at about 6:30pm. Please have your student at Cozmic no later than 6pm. This year should be a lot of fun. We're going to be leading a group piece in addition to our regular set.

There are only two after school rehearsal opportunities left: (Tuesday, May 13, and Thursday, May 15).

Moving Up Day May 23
On May 23, the Upper El students will be joining us in the Middle School from 11am-12:45pm. Traditionally, since the dawn of middle school time, we've had an 8th grade parent volunteer take the 8th graders out for a fun outing during that time. Could be bowling, hiking, a picnic... You name it.

Anyone interested in hanging out with 19 very cool 8th graders for a couple of hours? Please let me know ASAP. It's only two weeks away!

Thanks,
Jon and Carrie
