Dear Middle School Family,

Thanks for taking a snippet of time out of your busy schedules to sit down with me and Carrie to discuss how your student's year is shaping up.  We're in this together.  Nothing demonstrates our Collaboration to your student better than a sit-down connection.  Our door is ALWAYS open.  Please don't hesitate to connect with us to discuss how we can work better as a team to reduce your student's stress and support their success.  As a general rule: Please bring your student to every single meeting we ever have.

Mt. Pisgah Field Trip Success!

I want to send a huge "Thank You" out to Michelle, Lauren, and Ali for joining us on our Pisgah trip on Wednesday, and to Rob, Talicia, Dee, Dena, and Beth for joining us on Thursday.  The trip was a lot of fun.  It's one thing to imagine what it would be like to try to survive in the wilderness from the safety and comfort of a warm classroom.  Having the opportunity to wander through the woods and forage for resources in the wet and cold weather, really puts things into perspective.

The students drew maps, took tons of photos, and started the fun work of developing plans, stories and myths about their "life" in this place.

Ukulele Performance Group Rehearsals

Rehearsals are on!  Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:15-4:15pm.

The paperwork came home this week.  Roughly 80-100 hours of Extra music instruction and community performances for $200.  All the money goes directly into the Middle School music program.

TRUE gave two fantastic performances last Friday at the WOW Hall, and Saturday at Sam Bond's Garage!  They're playing again this Saturday at Petersen Barn by the River.  Updated times are in the Calendar above.

Friday's performance at the Barnes and Noble Bookfair is all in!  Anyone who wants to can participate.

Have a great week,

Jon
