Jon's Weekly Update 10-2-15

Dear Middle School Family,

The Warmup Cycle is over today.

If your kid is anything like my kid, there is some panic and possibly some tears happening right now.

Deep breaths: Monday is a new day.  A fresh start.  Let go of the small stuff.  Prioritize the BIG stuff that's moving forward. This weekend, please help your student prioritize the work that matters most: the work that carries forward.

Math.  Humanities Project.  Physical Science work. It's time to let go of the little stuff, if they haven't done it.  Warm-Up Term Grades will NOT show up on their report cards, and will not figure into their Trimester Grades.

We will accept "little stuff" late work until Saturday at noon for the Warmup Cycle.  Come Monday, we need to let go of the past and move forward.

What really matters is that your student is on top of their Humanities Project, and that they are keeping up with their work in Physical Science.  We've organized the Math groups based on the data we've collected these last three weeks to help us meet the kids at their level and their pace.

We work hard to make sure that all the Work our students engage in matters, but it's time to cut the past loose, and focus on the present.  It's time to Work for the future.

What makes this Learning Community amazing is that we all Care So Much!

We're in this together!
