Dear Middle School Family,

We're grateful for the solid show of family support at our Middle School meeting last Thursday.  We're in this together!  Supporting your adolescent's transition into adulthood is serious business.

If you were unable to attend the Thursday meeting, no worries. Conferences are just 4 weeks away.  You will be scheduling a conference with your student's Homeroom teacher (the classroom they eat lunch in).  Sign-ups will be in the lobby in Building A very soon. Conferences are a short check-in about the big picture: "How's it going?"  Also, Carrie and I are both readily available to schedule meetings whenever more classroom-specific needs arise.

Homework!
We're working to refine the weekly work load on the West side of the building.  My goal is to find the balance where the students are challenged and engaged just above their comfort level, yet are able to complete their work for Humanities and Communications IN CLASS by the end of the week.

Math is the only homework students should be bringing home consistently.  Please check in with me if your student is regularly doing homework for Humanities or Communications.

Middle School Dance! (From Annie Birkholz, 7th Grade)

The Middle School students would like to have a Dance on Friday, October 28 and we need adults to supervise. If you are available to chaperone please email Annie Birkholz at annie.birkholz@ridgeline.org. Indicate which shift you want, or if you can be available for the entire event. It will be held in the Gym at Ridgeline from 6-9pm.

Please respond no later than October 13th.

We need 4 adults for each shift. Shift A (4:30-7pm) includes decoration and set-up from 4:30 to 6:00pm and supervision from 6:00 to 7:00pm. Shift B (7-9:30pm) includes supervision from 7:00 to 9:00 and clean-up from 9:00-9:30.

Requirements are:

Must have a background check by Ridgeline

Please be available for whole shift

That's it for this week. If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend, TRUE will be performing at the last Farmer's Market at the Spencer Creek Grange on Lorane Highway this Saturday from 1-2pm. It's our first show of the school year, and we're playing a full hour set! It's a fun, free, event with bands all day, and vendors. Thanks, Genie, for connecting us!
Have a restorative weekend.
Jon and Maizzy
