Dear Middle School Family,

We're in the final phases of putting together the Project Gallery, covering significant events in US History from 1865 to 1990. It's been quite a production, and the results are impressive. It's been remarkable to see just how tumultuous and contentious and revolutionary our evolution as a country has been. We truly have come a long way, and progress has been painful.

We will have the Project Gallery on display on Monday after school until 4pm, if you would like to stop by and take a peek at what we've collectively accomplished.

Next week, we'll start exploring current events in the United States. These history projects have helped the students "get their feet wet" in the endless pool of information that is the internet. With our current events explorations over the coming weeks, we'll be spending a lot more time seeking out multiple, conflicting perspectives on topics and events, and examining them for bias and motives. Ultimately, we'll work on articulating our own perspectives on the topics, considering what we've learned, and how our own biases and motives inform our opinions.

Yes, in middle school.

Have a great weekend!
Jon and Maizzy
