Kindergarten Weekly Update 2-5-14

Thank you to all who sent a dollar for the puppet show. The children enjoyed the Chinese folktale about the moon. They were the perfect audience and asked thoughtful questions of the puppeteers. The children sang the Chinese lyrics of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.”

Shape and Say story: “Daphne’s Drippy Day.”

Valentine’s Day Celebration / Pajama Day: The children will make Valentine containers. Students who choose to bring Valentines are asked to sign the card but leave the envelopes blank. This enables the children to deliver them independently, dropping one in each bag. (Names on the containers can be difficult to decode for emergent readers.) We have thirty students in our class.

A group of students have finished sewing their winter banners. Others are in process.

Some of the new songs for this month include: “February is a Short Month,” “Mail Myself to You,” “Heart of Paper,” “Magic Penny,” and “L –O-V-E Spells Love.”

We hope to see you at the All-School Meeting this Thursday evening!

In-Service Friday, no school for children.

Save the Date: Our annual pasta dinner will be served on Friday, February 21.
