Our class is focusing on Chinese traditions this week including the Chinese New Year and Spring Festival. Our Chinese interns have shown a video of Chinese customs. We have been introduced to the Chinese calendar including a story about the origins of the animals of the zodiac: rat, bull, tiger, rabbit, dragon, dog, snake, horse, goat, pig, monkey, rooster and dragon. The children have made red paper cuts snow flowers, paper chains, and colored the Chinese characters that read Happy New Year. We have sung some songs and will end the week making rice balls.

Our Shape and Say story is “Gertie the Goat.”

“Please Don’t Do That,” is the title of our CIK story that teaches how to respond appropriately to annoying actions.

Joy of Sharing Food Drive Kicks-off December 14 at the Talent/Un-Talent Show!
