Our Valentine/Pajama Day was lots of fun. In addition to the card exchange we sang “Mail Myself to You,” “Heart of Paper” and “February is a Short Month.” Rhymes we recited include “Valentines, Valentines, Fifty-five or More” “Mom and Dad Have a Valentine,” “I Feel Flippy” and the favorite:

I love you, I love you,
I love you divine.
Please give me your bubblegum,
You’re sitting on mine!

This week we will be reading and singing about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. New tracing pages at the light table are of a dollar, a penny, the Lincoln memorial and the Washington monument.

Our Shape and Say story: “Oscar the Cat.”

Pasta Dinner – I hope to see you Friday evening at Ridgeline’s annual Pasta Dinner! The dinner menu will include penne pasta with marinara sauce and pesto, salad, and bread. Also featured this year is a student marketplace, classroom painted pasta bowls for auction, center piece paper flowers made by Emily’s class, and a performance by Ridgeline’s middle school ukulele group, T.R.U.E.! We are asking for a suggested donation of $5 per person or $20 per family. The Pasta Dinner is an RCO fundraiser supporting the general fund fundraising goal of $40,000 for this school year.
