Diana's Weekly Update 10-29-15

posted Oct 29, 2015, 11:37 AM by Cynthia Friedman

The pumpkin pillow that each child sewed will be sent home on Thursday.

Our Shape and Say story is “Sammy Snake.” Each child will prepare a sushi roll in celebration of “s.”

Our CIK story: “Tattletale,” focusing on when and when not to tell on someone.

We are carving a silly face on a pumpkin and roasting the seeds for a snack.

Our Tuesday nature walks along the Rexius trail are going well. The children are learning how to safely cross a street. This week we found many galls on the white oak leaves that have fallen.

We have begun talking about the different kinds of life: animals, plants, fungi and microorganisms. We are also learning about the difference between vertebrates and invertebrates.

Popular rhymes/songs: “The Bone Rhythm,” “My Spine is Made of Many Bony Vertebrae,” and “The Wheels on the Bus.”

Listeners needed- One-on-one listening to students read. Listen to one or ten for half an hour up to an hour and forty-five minutes, any morning, Monday through Friday, during the window of 9:00 to 10:45.
