Think and Wonder.

Wonder and Think.

We have had a brilliant first week!  The students are awesome!  Thank you so much for letting us borrow them  to work with!

We will be starting to settle into a normal working routine next week, so expect much more information in next week's Friday Folder.  For right now, I just want to highlight a few things.

Life-threatening Allergy!

This year we have a student who is extremely allergic to nuts of all types.  Therefore,  all students who bring food containing nuts will be asked to eat at a special table in the classroom.

Parent Meeting

Our classroom's Parent Meeting is on Tuesday, September 19th, from 6:30 to 7:30pm in the classroom.  I strongly encourage everyone to attend since this is where I will be communicating our plans for the year and explaining many of the guidelines that we will use in the classroom.  Your student is welcome to attend the meeting with you.

Materials

We encourage everyone to have a water bottle in the classroom so that they stay hydrated.  The water bottle needs to have a lid so that it does not spill when tipped over.  We also ask that everyone have a personal chapter book they are reading every day (there are books available in the classroom to borrow).  Part of the homework expectation is that students will read for at least 20 minutes a day.

Birthday Bash

We will be holding a monthly "Birthday Bash" for all of the students who have a birthday in that calendar month.  Our September Birthday Bash will be on Friday, September 21st.  If your student has a birthday in September, you are welcome to send a healthy snack that morning.  I will speak more of Birthday Bashes at our Parent Meeting.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions (mary.bach-jackson@ridgeline.org).
