Track Town Pizza Restaurant Day

On Monday, April 9th come to Track Town Pizza at 1809 Franklin Boulevard for a day of Fundraising. Bring the attached flyer in and Ridgeline will receive 50% of the food purchased towards in-house or pickup (to-go) orders (only whole pizzas, breadsticks and salads count towards fundraising. No discounts allowed to maximize your fundraising efforts).  If you purchase a gift certificate, Ridgeline will receive 25% of the value of the gift certificate purchased. Both ways Track Town makes it simple and a great time to get together for a day of fundraising.

Upcoming Traffic Plans

There has been ongoing discussion regarding student and community safety and ease of traffic flow during drop off and pick up times. Site Council has designed (with input from parents and community neighbors) a new afternoon pick-up procedure in order to prioritize safety for our students as well as our community members. Fliers will be sent home soon explaining the details of the plan, but for now, we need some of our amazing family members to volunteer. We need several volunteers to help daily. One volunteer will be stationed at the driveway entrance to Ridgeline at W. Amazon to hand out fliers to drivers arriving before 3:05 p.m., outlining the new circle "airport" style pick up protocol. Two volunteers will be stationed at the corner of West Amazon and Rosewood Way to enforce no queueing on the street.  Beginning May 1, the pick-up circle will not be open for pick-up traffic until 3:05pm, allowing access to delivery vehicles, early pick-ups, and to keep the fire lane open. Vehicles arriving early will be encouraged to park and walk to the dismissal area. If necessary, cars can also park and return to the circle at 3:05 or circle the neighborhood until 3:05 p.m.

RCO Meeting April 10, 6:00-7:30 pm.

At the next RCO Meeting, the parent education topic will be the Upper Elementary where I will be sharing about the program. Is your child transitioning to Upper Elementary next year? Are you interested in learning more about your child's current program in Upper Elementary? Join us on Tuesday, April 10th for our last parent education presentation of the year.  Free childcare will be provided.

Volunteer Opportunities

We have three opportunities for you to serve our students and our school as a partner in leadership in the Ridgeline community. RCO Co-Convener and Site Council Representative are both wonderful ways to step up your level of engagement with the community and have a voice in the processes of our school. Would you prefer to not be as involved in planning, but still support the school? RCO will need a minute taker for our meetings next year. Please email today to find out more!

Heads Up

Now that flu season is winding down, head lice seem to be crawling around! We highly encourage you to check your kid’s head, especially with Spring Break upon us. The relatives you visit over the break will not be thrilled if you leave them with itchy heads! Please make it a routine to periodically check your child(ren)’s head for nits and live bugs. Lice are tiny brown and gray parasites that can cause itching and scratching, especially in areas of the body that are covered with hair (typically behind the ears, near the scalp, and neck). You will be able to see the tiny lice eggs (called “nits”), which look like grains of sand attached to the hair shafts.

Treatment: Ask your doctor to recommend shampoos, cream or lotion, available over the counter. Clothing and linens need to be washed in very hot water (128.3 degrees Fahrenheit, or 53.5 degrees Celsius). Personal items, toys, home and car must be cleaned or bagged.  For more detailed information, see the website

The Ridgeline office staff appreciates a courtesy phone call to alert us if your child has lice so that we may work with you to ensure progress is being made to eliminate lice from your life and help to reduce further spread. We ask that you treat your child and pick out all the nits before sending them back to school.

PS:  Please return the Friday Folder to the classroom on Tuesday!
