State Testing

We are scheduled to begin state testing this month.  We will begin with some practice sessions to gain familiarity with the interface, and then start testing in earnest from the third week of April.  We will have plenty of time to finish before the end-May closing time.  Please feel free to contact myself or the office if you have any questions.

Project Fair

The Project Fair will be held on Tuesday, April 25th, from 3:15 to 4:15pm and from 6:00 to 7:00pm.  All cultural projects will need to be complete and ready to present at that time. If your student needs tri-fold poster board for their project, it can be purchased from the office for $3. For the fair itself, all students will need to attend one or both of the sessions and be present in the classroom to explain their project to the attendees.  I will send out more information about the Project Fair as we approach the date.

Parent Survey Deadline Extended

Please take the parent survey! Only 44 people have completed the survey as of April 6!  It provides information that various school groups use to make decisions for the coming year. Please remember to record the time it takes you to complete the survey in your volunteer hour log.  Please keep in mind the survey results are shared with all Ridgeline stakeholder groups. If you have specific concerns, we encourage you to directly communicate with the appropriate staff member.  Please complete the survey by Friday, April 14.

Supply Fee for 2017-18

We are now taking supply fee payments for the 2017-18 school year. The fee is $75 per student.  Please make checks out to Ridgeline Montessori and drop them off in the office. Financial assistance forms are also available in the lobby or online.  Supply fees are due April 28.

Discussion About 2017-18 School Hours

Ridgeline has one of the latest elementary dismissal times in the district. Many after school activities start by 3:30pm and our families have been taking their kids early from school in order to arrive on time for these activities. Our later morning start time has not coordinated well with the LTD schedule either. The Site Council has been discussing the possibility of shifting the school day. Determining start and release times for the school day that work best for everyone is an impossible task. Finding a time that has the most positive outcomes with the least number of disadvantages for our community is what we have sought out. The overwhelming feedback we have received is that shifting the start of the school day forward to 8:30am, thereby making the release time 3:05pm, would have a positive effect on accessibility of after school activities, especially with an across town commute.  There will always be people whom may not be as excited about the change, but the motivation for the change is to make an improvement for our students and parents, and to minimize the impact to the office and classrooms with students leaving early.  Thank you in advance for working with us on this topic. The Site Council will be making a decision on the 2017-18 school hours at their May 1st meeting. Please attend the meeting or email your input to Site Council at sitecouncil@ridgeline.org by April 28.
