Dana's Weekly Update 12-12-14

posted Dec 12, 2014, 11:15 AM by Cynthia Friedman
Dear Families,

Calendars Due Monday! Calendars need to be print ready and paid for by Monday, December 15th. Your child should have brought home the order form in their Friday Folder last week. If you didn’t receive it you can print a new one from the attachment to this note. The calendars that have been printed so far are amazing! The kids always blow me away with the quality of their research, their challenging math problems, their awesome detailed illustrations and their incredible extension ideas!

Middle School Info: 5th and 6th grade families looking at Middle School options will not want to miss the upcoming RCO Meeting on January 6 at 6:00 PM. Middle school teacher Jon Labrousse will present to the RCO the ins and outs of our middle school program, discuss some upcoming changes, and detail the experience of our students at this crucial time in their adolescence.

The presentation will take place at the beginning of the RCO meeting (from about 6:05 to 6:45) followed by a Q&A session. Students are welcome and encouraged to attend as well.

Please note that this RCO meeting will take place the very day that we return from winter break, so mark your calendars now. Jon will do his usual middle school presentation in March as well, but this RCO meeting will provide a more intimate setting for discussion.

Fish Release Field Trip: Your child should have brought home a permission slip for our upcoming trip to Alton Baker on Thursday, December 18th. We will be releasing our classroom salmon and doing some fun activities to wrap up our salmon unit. If you would like to join us please check the box on the permission slip so I know you are coming.
