Pioneer History Field Trip Next Wednesday
We will be traveling to the Lane County Historical Museum to learn about Oregon’s pioneer history on Wednesday, April 16. We will take a LTD bus to Eugene Station, then walk to the museum for our tour. The trip begins at 9:00 and we return at 12:00 for lunch at school. Transportation and admission are free, and permission slips will be sent home Friday. On Wednesday, please make sure that your child dresses for the weather and wears good walking shoes. We’ll eat a “pocket snack” on the way – please make sure the snack is quick to eat and actually fits in a pocket!

If you would like to join us as a chaperone, please let me know.

We are studying conifers and have taken a mini tour of the Ridgeline campus to identify Douglas fir, western red-cedar, lodgepole pine and ponderosa pines. Some kids are writing their own descriptions of these trees. Have your child point out a ponderosa to you on the way home from school!

Water Bottle Reminder
These beautiful sunny days let kids work up a thirst! Make sure that your child has a water bottle available at school.

Earthquake Drill
Next Wednesday we will have an earthquake drill at school. These drills often spark conversations at home. This is a great time to discuss earthquake safety in your family and come up with your own emergency plan.
