Biome Fabulousness!
Thursday's Biome Fashion Show was a great way for kids to show off what they've learned about the world's biomes. There were warm hats for the polar regions, life vests for the ocean, waders for the wetlands and more. Photos of the great outfits will be posted on the classroom blog soon. Our next adventure: the ocean!

Thank you to everyone who sent back homework folders today! We are looking forward to seeing all the great work the children have done. We expect to fine-tune our spelling lists to each child's level a little more each week, based on your feedback, so please don't hesitate to set down your comments and questions on the record sheet in your folders.

A Furry Guest
Readathon week came to an end with a very special event here in Room 4. Luna, the therapy dog, and her owner Celia Chesluk were our guest readers on Friday. Luna is specially trained for this sort of work and she'll be revisiting our class in the future to listen to young readers. A similar program is in place at the Eugene Public Library, and it's a wonderful way for kids to read to a warm, fuzzy, and absolutely nonjudgmental audience. In the meantime, why not add an extra check mark to your child's Readathon envelope? You might have to write in a new category: Being Read TO by a Pet!

Bike and Walk to School Day
Next Wednesday, join a walking or biking train from a nearby park, walk to the bus stop, scoot or skateboard... Anything to get active and out of the car. We will tally up the walkers and bikers, make some charts and answer some mathematical questions with our results.
