Rain Forest Day Next Wednesday
We are transforming our room into a tropical rain forest, complete with trees, vines, bromeliads, and life sized rain forest animals. Next Wednesday we'll celebrate all we've learned. Kids will present their research, taste chocolate and other tropical delicacies, and try to solve the mysteries of Brazil nut pollination. You'll be able to visit the Ridgeline Rain Forest Preserve and see the kid's great work during family conferences.
Family Conferences April 11 and 12
Please make sure to sign up for a conference slot. Evening times are available on Thursday, April 11, and daytime slots are available on Friday. Children are welcome to attend their conferences. Please remember that there will be no school those days!
Science Fair Helpers Needed
Coming soon, scientists and students from the UO will visit next Tuesday afternoon to guide the kids in creating their own science fair projects. We'll display them at Ridgeline's Project Fair on May 21 and even have the chance to enter them in the 2nd Annual UO Science and Invention Fair. The visiting scientists will come four times to work with kids at every stage of project development. SO fun! We are seeking volunteers to help the kids - especially the youngest ones - through the scientific process. We can arrange times to fit your schedule. Let us know if you're interested.
Rock Star Alert
Time to rock! Eye of the Tiger is the latest song we've added to our repertoire and the kids really sing with gusto. We're branching out into drama, too, with the help of Rachael Carnes (Hugh's mom). The kids will create and star in a musical based on Schoolhouse Rock, with performance dates TBA.
See you at Laughing Planet on Monday, April 8! A percentage of sales that day will be donated to Ridgeline.
