We sent water bottles home over break for “spring cleaning.” Please remember to send a labeled bottle back to school for those thirst quenching moments.
We are looking for a volunteer to wash dirty towels for the classroom from now to the end of the year. The basket will be sent home every Friday to be returned Monday. Speaking of volunteers...
WE APPRECIATE YOU!
On Thursday, the kids generated a list of all of the wonderful volunteers that they wanted to thank in honor of Volunteer Appreciation Week. It was amazing (and heartwarming) to see such a long list of people involved in our community. In fact, the number of volunteers exceeded the number of children in the classroom! With that, we would like to extend a very special thank you to the following people:
Laura, Larry, Aaron, Cicely, Thea, Lela, Erik, Chazz, Tiffany, Shane, Joris, Kris, Starr, Josh, Bill, Cherri, Rachel, Genie, Rozelle, Rhonda, David, Lori, Elin, John, Mark, Diane, Talicia, Wibke, Mika, Kimberly, Sarah and Becky.
To show our appreciation for ALL of the volunteers at Ridgeline, Thursday April 19th is “Hats off to Volunteers” Day. Students are invited to wear a hat to school and will “tip their hat” to volunteers in the building that day. As it is the same day as Project Fair, students in room 1 will also be offered Egyptian crown making materials. Speaking of Project Fair....
Step into Ancient Egypt
Thursday's Project Fair will be open from 3:15-4:15 and again from 6:00-7:00. Come visit the mysteries of an ancient pyramid, walk along the Nile River, meet fascinating Egyptians (paper ones of course), and be amazed by the assortment of kid projects including reports, posters, dioramas, clay sculptures and mummies. That's right, mummies! Speaking of paper Egyptians....
Home Project Due April 18
We hope that the home project is going smoothly and that everyone is having fun creating their Egyptian personas. These colorful characters will be on display at the project fair, and we'd love to have every child represented! The assignment is due Wednesday, April 18th . If completed, your child may bring it in before Wednesday. Please contact us if we can answer questions or help with the project in any way.
On behalf of Emily, Alyson, Wendy and the kids in room 1, we would like to welcome 3rd year student Jillian Burcher to our classroom and to Ridgeline. Welcome Jillian!
The theme for sharing next week (April 16-20) is something from or related to the earth (in honor of Earth Day).
