Emily & Alyson's Weekly Update 11-13-12

Volunteer Needs
Laundry- Starting in December, we are looking for families that can, on a monthly basis, take a basket of dirty towels home on Friday to launder and return on Monday. To reply, email Alyson or Emily OR sign up on the outside door at school.

Crickets- Chester, our beloved class gecko, needs someone to supply crickets for him on a monthly basis. The crickets are generally $1.00 a dozen and two dozen crickets are enough for one week.

Either of these opportunities are a great and flexible way to log volunteer hours!

Water Bottles
Yes, it's another reminder to send a labeled water bottle to school for your child. Because we have no sink in the classroom, kids without a water bottle have to use the drinking fountain in the hallway. Long lines at the fountain slow down our transition time (coming in from recess, p.e., etc). In addition, it is extremely helpful to be able to get a drink during work periods without having to leave the classroom.
Indoor Shoes
As winter approaches, it is increasingly important for students to have indoor shoes for the classroom. Students spend considerable time working on the rug and we want to keep it clean. If you haven't already done so, please send shoes (along with those water bottles) to school as soon as possible.

Conference Feedback
We have attached a Conference Feedback Form for families. The document can also be found in this week's eNews. If you would like to complete the form, please return it to the office by November 21.

It was a pleasure to see all of you last week during conferences!
