Growing Kids -
“I ate all my lunch and I'm still hungry.” That's what we hear many times every lunchtime. We do have healthy food available as part of our Ridgeline Pantry program, which is designed to help fill the gap for families who used to take advantage of our free and reduced lunch program. It can also help if kids forget a lunch or if a lunch comes up short.

We know that families often like to know what their kids are eating, so we will be sending home a sticky note in a child's lunchbox if they got an item from the Ridgeline pantry. We'd also like to hear from you if you'd prefer that your child not get food from the pantry.
Swan Lake -
We are getting ready for Swan Lake! Rachael Carnes, the volunteer who leads our Friday dance program, will be helping us learn about and enact the story of Swan Lake this week. It's a great story - mistaken identities and evil sorcerers galore. The following Friday, February 8, we'll see the Eugene Ballet perform. We are still looking for chaperones to join us. If you're free from 8:40 to 11:15, we'd love to have you along!

TAG Testing for Second Graders -
Every second grader in the 4J district is tested for TAG (talented and gifted) eligibility. Our second graders will be tested sometime in early February, and the families of children who qualify will be notified after that. We believe that every child is, in some way, gifted, and that every child is a gift. Sometimes a single test isn't enough to get a full picture of a child's strengths. If you have questions about TAG, please let us know.
