BABY LARK HAS ARRIVED!!!

Emily gave birth to baby Lark on Saturday May 7th at 5:30 pm!  She weighed 5 lb 13 oz. Her full name is Lark Alene Veverka Vacca.  Yes, she was about a month early, proving to be a Montessori soul. (Making it her choice when she would like to be born J)  Emily, baby, and family are doing great and we hope to meet Lark before the school year is over.

WILDFLOWERS, PEACEMAKERS AND MORE

Our class will continue to research famous peacemakers and those who have made our world such a better place. Students are in various stages of their research and are eager to their reports.

We have also begun the study of flowers inspired by the amazing camas hill outside our classroom. Children are learning the parts and functions of flowers and the many ways they help us. Identifying and studying the wildflowers that grow in our region has many students excited about a future nature walk.

It has been such a pleasure for me to dive right in to the lead position for Emily. We continue to integrate what we are studying in with our art projects, writer’s workshop, dance, and peace education. The classroom is flowing so smoothly and we are thankful to have Siriswami helping our class, as well as the parents who volunteer weekly.
