Clint's Weekly Update 5-29-15

posted Jun 9, 2015, 11:24 AM by Cynthia Friedman

Dear Families,

To pull off an overnight camping trip for a class requires a tremendous amount of behind the scenes preparations.  Jen Hackstadt, Jen Hornsby and Dena Mohtadi have been instrumental in this process and deserve a huge thank you.  The number of chaperones that have stepped forward is also very impressive.

As this big event approaches there are logistical considerations that the planning team needs to have made decisions about.  Friday, May 29th is the day when we need to decide which vehicles will be loaded with gear and which will be loaded with children and chaperones.  Our decisions will be based on how many students have submitted completed permissions slips, health histories, and payment or scholarship forms.  Without proper paperwork on file we cannot and will not take a student on this trip.

In addition, all students must have their “checked-bags” at Ridgeline by 1:45pm on Friday, May 29th.  If there are any missing items, this allows us time to contact you.  Having the bags ready this early also gives us the chance organize exactly how to pack everything to minimize the number of cars we are driving to the park.

Once we reach Cascadia State Park I will call the Ridgeline office so they know we all arrived safely.  I will also give a daily report to the office.  If there is no cell service at the park, I will make this call from the camp host’s landline or drive to the nearest location to get cell service. You are welcome to try to call me anytime, but I cannot guarantee that I will be able to answer.  If you cannot get in touch with me directly, please call the office and they will pass along any messages when I contact them.
