Hello Families,

Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) starts next week and runs through the end of May. Ridgeline schedules students for testing across multiple weeks, so if you would like to know when your son or daughter is scheduled to test, please contact me. We ask that you help your son or daughter prepare for testing by setting a routine that includes:
a consistently early bedtime,
healthy breakfasts and lunches, and
arriving at school on time each morning.

We are nearing the end of the architectural unit and I am amazed at the quality of writing and attention to detail that I am seeing. One of the main reasons for engaging students with the Architects in Schools program was to offer an engaging means for unifying our study of history, cultures, and writing. This week, students will have the opportunity to meet the following important deadlines:

April 30 Formal Draft of the Writing
May 1 Final Project on Presentation Board
May 5 Projects Delivered to Jacobs Gallery at the Hult Center (Any volunteers to help me deliver the projects? I do not have a car that day.)

If students are in need of more time to work on their writing or floor plans, I am encouraging them to take work home.

This week, students have also been invited to attend additional math lessons in order to increase their exposure to math concepts. The idea is to provide plenty of opportunities to go deep with math.
Students are also welcome to attend Ridgeline's after school Math Homework Club, each Monday from 3:15-4:15 in the library. It's a great opportunity to practice skills and problem solving with two friendly math experts!

Upcoming Events:
4/28/14 Mazzi’s RCO fundraiser 5-9pm
