Clint's Weekly Update 4-19-17

Sadness can be overwhelming.  I have felt so much love since Elijah’s death and want to acknowledge the gift that each of you have offered to me, to the kids, and to each other.

Our classroom community came together to create a safe space. Our counselors, Michael and Curtis, worked extra hours to ensure we had the necessary support for students and parents. Jes Feather and Michelle Lodwig were floating subs, filling in wherever they were needed. Therapy dogs were here for students and Christine Everts facilitated the visits. Dena Mohtadi joined our classroom to support the kids and adults. Kathee Palfy volunteered in the office, classroom and wherever she was needed. 4J sent four counselors to support our students and staff. 4J administration stopped by in the afternoon to see if there was anything else they could provide to help us during this time. Amy provided snacks and Cynthia baked treats. RCO changed their meeting in order to provide a parent grief support meeting.

Love poured in from community members throughout the day. Our PE Teacher Danielle came in extra to provide physical activities for students needing an outlet on Wednesday and Friday morning. The list goes on and on of people from within the Ridgeline community and the larger community supporting our school. We are so grateful for all the love and support that keeps pouring in.

  • Project Judging 11:30-1:30pm

  • Science Workshops 1:30-2:30pm

  • Physics Demo Show 2:30-3:00pm

Lily’s Lesson on Watersheds

On Monday, Marin’s mom Lily presented the first of three lessons on watersheds.  After Lily’s informational presentation students broke out into small groups to create models of watersheds.

Ridgeline Project Fair - Tuesday April 25!

Students began preparing themselves for Ridgeline’s Project Fair by trying to piece together the gym sized world map that Amary, Elijah, and Quinlan helped create over the summer.   A special thanks goes out to Eric MacCionnaith and Alex Fodor for helping protect the map with a special spray.

Appropriate Clothing for PE and Dance Class

Dance class this trimester is requiring a lot of dramatic/creative movements from students.  Students should wear clothing that can stretch or flow and cover their bodies during all sorts of movement.  Dance is on Fridays.
