Dear Families,

This Saturday, March 4 is the  PARENT INFORMATION SESSION  for the

Milo McIver State Park End of the Year Trip!!!

The trip’s organizing committee will host this very important information session to discuss the the ins and outs of this year’s camping trip.  Topics will include the benefits of the selecting Milo McIver, the nearby attractions, dates, travel, food, and costs.  Please RSVP to me at clint.moore@ridgeline.org and join us in my room on Saturday, March 5 @10am.

Totem Pole Update

On Friday, March 4, Vic Hansen will be introducing the class to carving techniques and on March 16 the Upper El classes will share their totem pole design ideas with Brenda and Joe Brainard.  To prepare for both students have been practicing their designs and carving techniques on carrots.  Yes, on carrots!  This stellar idea was introduced by Elijah, who decided to “tooth carve” his carrot during lunch last week.

Also to prepare the log for carving, students used rollers to move it and levers to elevate it.  Seeing students actually use simple machine concepts to easily move a 700 pound log was spectacular!
