Creative Expressions

I hope you were able to stop by on Saturday for the Marketplace! It was such an amazing event! Our students made fabulous creative items and donated a portion or all of their profits to Ridgeline!  A huge thank you to Shannon (Eli) and all of the other volunteers that helped make our class booth at the Ridgeline Student Marketplace such a success. We ended up netting almost $300 for a big field trip in the spring!

3 Islands Project

Students are drawing parallels between our class’ 3 Islands Project and some history content.

Parents are also catching the excitement! One parent emailed that, “As I tucked (my son) in tonight and asked how his day went, his eyes lit up and he said his day was a '10!'  He couldn't stop grinning as he told me the class had figured out a lot about the Three Islands project.  He proceeded to tell me all the information they discovered...and I could tell he was thrilled to be part of it all.  His satisfaction and feeling of accomplishment and teamwork means a lot.”

I am really impressed by some of the extra research that some students are taking on in order to convince me that their connections are strongly supported. For those of you that are interested in viewing the connections list, please visit Eli’s Google Document aptly titled “3 Islands Evidence” by following this link: “https://docs.google.com/a/ridgeline.org/document/d/1etGHuXJmKnSUk432GWFR-WP9525CVEG6W5oHlTDeJ0A/edit?usp=sharing

As a bonus, I am planning on providing history lessons that I will start teaching in January. These lessons may help facilitate further student interest in making historical connections to the 3 Islands...

LuLaRoe – On Saturday, December 9, from 11am-1pm, seven local LuLaRoe consultants will be bringing their inventories to the Ridgeline gym for a fundraising event to benefit Ridgeline Montessori. For each piece sold that day, a donation will be made to the school and LuLaRoe will match that donation! Combined donations for this event will be between $3 and $6 per item sold and are based on the value of each piece. Last year, we were able to donate nearly $1,000 to the school! We hope to make this year even bigger!

There will be over 4,000 pieces of inventory available to shop from, so proceeds to Ridgeline could be substantial. There will also be a raffle for free leggings! Be sure to join the Facebook Event page for photos, updates, and announcements: https://www.facebook.com/events/1204821566316356/

Get those holiday shopping and teacher gift lists, and head on down to the gym on the 9th. You don't want to miss this!
