Dear Ridgeline Families,

Welcome to our 2014-15 school year!!
ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL: This year children can enter the classrooms at 8:25. To avoid a tardy mark, children must be in the classroom by 8:40.

New Family Orientation: This event is scheduled for this Friday, September 5th, in the library from 8:45am-9:45am. This is the perfect opportunity to learn all the ins and outs of being a Ridgeline parent and have your questions answered. Chrystell, Sharon and Cynthia will present to new parents and then hold a Q&A session. Join us!

Cheri’s Class Family Picnic: Please join us Thursday, September 25, 5:00-6:15, for a casual get-together on the grass behind our classroom. Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy getting acquainted (or reacquainted) with our students and their families. Check out the classroom and the wonderful playground. Meet our new teacher-interns,Lei and Jia, from China. See you there!

SHARING: “Sharing” offers your student an opportunity to build self-confidence and communication skills. For this reason, I suggest a weekly theme so that parents can help their student think of 3 facts to tell about their chosen topic. Next week’s sharing theme is “a favorite plant or flower.” It would be wonderful if your child brings a small plant that can be kept and cared for in our classroom.

A Sharing Schedule and Weekly Schedule are attached. If you would like a hard copy, let me know via email, phone (541-681-9662) or a note and I’ll be sure you get one.

LUNCH: Lunch begins at 11:40. Parents are welcome!

INSIDE SHOES: Please be sure your child has a pair of inside shoes. Much of the ‘work’ in our classroom involves hands-on materials used on the rug. Inside shoes keep our classroom cleaner and quieter.

Water Cup: We are asking children to bring a small, unbreakable mug with a handle to hang on the new cup holder located in the classroom right next to the water dispenser.

Cheri and Azusa
