Field Trip to the Library: Our class will visit the library next Tuesday, Oct. 4. We will travel by LTD, leaving school at 12:15 and returning by 2:45. Students ride the bus for free on the first field trip of the school year, so there is no charge for this trip. Please complete the attached permission form and return. Questions? Sharing theme (week of 10/3): Something blue

Cafeteria Lunches: Please be sure to order and pay for your child’s lunch in advance!
Biomes: A biome is a habitat and has it’s own climate and living conditions. We will study five different biomes: Aquatic, Desert, Polar Regions, Temperate/Rain Forests, and Grasslands. Please send a small shoebox to school for the construction of a biome diorama. Our Biomes study begins with Oceans of the World. The students will research marine plants and animals.

Silent Auction Basket: Every classroom is collecting items for the Capital Campaign Silent Auction. Our basket’s them is ‘International’. Please send in donations. Some suggestions are books, foods, drinks, clothing, restaurant gift certificates, art work, and souvenirs. If you have other ideas, please share them with me and I’ll include them in the next update. Also, Yaeko Sumida, (Kai’s Mom) has volunteered to help collect items and organize our basket. Save the date!! Ridgeline’s capital campaign kick-off is scheduled for October 22 at the Southtowne Shoppes in South Eugene. This is a family event. The celebration will feature student performances, a raffle, merchant discounts and donations, a silent auction, refreshments, and a chance to help the Ridgeline community’s efforts to relocate into our own new home. Help with transportation: Our Chinese teacher interns need help getting to Ridgeline in the mornings. Their host families live in the North Gilham area. Wong Fung lives at 3194 Downing Street, Liu Kai’s address is 2460 Snelling Drive. Please let me know if you may be able to help.

Field Trip to the Eugene Library



On Tuesday, October 4, Cheri’s students will visit the Eugene Public Library. We will leave school at 12:15, right after lunch, and catch the LTD bus on Donald Street. Our library tour and story is scheduled to begin at 1:00. After the library visit we will walk back to the Downtown LTD station and ride the bus to school. We plan to return by 2:45. As always, parents are welcome. Just let me know if you would like to join us. There is no charge for this field trip. Please complete and return the enclosed form ASAP. Thanks, Cheri
