Dear Families,

Next week is a busy one! It begins with a special parent presentation by Montessori teacher-trainer, Marta Donahoe on Tuesday night then our class picnic is scheduled for Thursday at 5:00pm. Hope to see you there!

A Special Montessori Presentation is planned for Tuesday, September 23 from 6:30-7:30pm. The presenter, Marta Donahoe, is the Director of the Cincinnati Teacher Training Program. Marta has a special program planned for parents entitled “Lasting Peace”. It’s bound to be an enjoyable evening. Childcare is available.

Cheri’s Class Family Picnic: Please join us Thursday, September 25, 5:00-6:15, for a casual get-together on the grass behind our classroom. Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy getting acquainted (or reacquainted) with our students and their families. Check out the classroom and the playground. Meet our new teacher-interns, Lei and Jaui, from China. See you there!

The Ridgeline Rising Silent Auction and Block Party:
This event is scheduled for October 11th. Lots of fantastic activities are planned including a silent auction featuring a collection of themed baskets created by Ridgeline classrooms.

Our classroom’s theme is “Duck Green” and families are invited to contribute related items valued at $10 or less OR donate $10 cash (to be used by volunteers to purchase items for the basket). We already have a handmade UofO Duck’s blanket, cheer pom-poms, Go Ducks shirts and hats. Please help us fill our basket. Our classroom basket organizer is Cheryle Myers (Sierra’s mom). You can contact Cheryle at 541-683-7213 (call or text) or email her

PETER AND THE WOLF ELEMENTARY YOUTH CONCERT: Again this year, the Eugene Symphony is sponsoring a special concert for students. The concert will feature several well-known pieces by famous composers including Tchaikovsky’s Flight of the Bumblebee and Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. On Tuesday, October 14, our class will ride LTD to the downtown bus station and walk to the Hult Center. Admission is $5.00 per student and we are in need of 3 adult chaperones. We plan to leave school around 8:405AM and return by noon. Watch for a permission form in the next update.
