Dear Families,

Our first full week of school is nearly over and it has been a great one! Your children are busy becoming a Montessori community! They are learning to take responsibility for their learning by participating in lessons and completing work independently. They’re also learning to take care of their classroom environment by helping with daily jobs. Finally, they are learning to be kind and helpful towards each other. It’s an amazing process!

A Special Montessori Presentation is planned for Tuesday, September 23 from 6:30-7:30pm. The presenter, Marta Donahoe, is the Director of the Cincinnati Teacher Training Program. Marta has a special program planned for parents entitled “Lasting Peace.” It’s bound to be an enjoyable evening. Limited childcare is available (contact the office to make a reservation).

Cheri’s Class Family Picnic: Please join us Thursday, September 25, 5:00-6:15, for a casual get-together on the grass behind our classroom. Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy getting acquainted (or reacquainted) with our students and their families. Check out the classroom and the playground. Meet our new teacher-interns, Lei and Jaui, from China. See you there!

The Ridgeline Rising Silent Auction and Block Party: This fun-filled event is just around the corner (October 11th to be exact)! Each classroom has selected a theme for a basket to be included in the silent auction and students are invited to contribute theme related items valued at $10 or less OR donate $10 cash (to be used by volunteers to purchase items for the basket). Our classroom’s basket theme is DUCK GREEN!

Please contact Cheryle Myers, our classroom basket organizer or Cynthia if you have any questions. A flier with ideas/suggestions is attached and will be sent home Friday. You can reach Cheryle Myers (Sierra’s mom), at 541-683-7213 (call or text). You can also email her at
