Week of April 30: A picture or a drawing of a mammal

Another Great Project Fair! This year’s Project Fair was the best one yet! An amazing variety of interesting projects were displayed in all the classrooms. Thanks for your support of this annual event.

Latin Beat for Kids: Last Saturday, over 25 Ridgeline students performed on stage at the Eugene Hult Center! They sang De Colores, a song we learned when members of the Eugene Concert Choir visited our school. The children demonstrated great confidence and poise on stage! If you have photos from this event, please consider sharing with the school community.

Bhangra Dance: Celeste Peterson, Lucas’ mom, shared a video from this year’s Asian Celebration dance performance. Thanks, Celeste!

Upcoming Field TRips: Next month we plan to visit the Science Factory and view a solar system show in the planetarium. We also are making plans for our annual lunch at Chapala’s Mexican restaurant. Watch for details in future updates.

Calling all summer birthdays! I’d like students with summer birthdays to have an opportunity to celebrate with their class. Please contact me and we’ll plan a time in April or May when your student’s special day can be shared. The children so enjoy seeing photos and hearing stories about their classmate’s early years. To schedule your student’s “walk around the sun”, e-mail, send a note or call (541) 681-9662.
Astronomy update: On Sunday, May 20, an annular solar eclipse will occur and be visible from Oregon, weather permitting. An annular eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly in front of the sun, but the lunar disk is not quite wide enough to cover the entire star. The Moon forms a "black hole" in the center of the sun. For more information, check out this NASA website: Solar Eclipse: NASA site

Friday, May 18: JOGATHON

Thank you for sharing your fabulous children!
