GROUNDS KEEPING AND OUTDOOR CLASSROOM WORK PARTY: Come help us keep Ridgeline beautiful!  A volunteer grounds-keeping work party will be held Saturday, April 25, 10am-3pm.  We'll be digging a path in the north field, weeding, pruning, raking and generally having fun. Kids are welcome.  Bring gardening tools if you've got them, plus gloves & rugged clothing. Meet at the outdoor classroom. All family members may log volunteer hours.

PROJECT FAIR: Project Fair is next week Thursday, April 30. Students should bring their finished projects to school Thursday morning. Families and friends are invited to come and enjoy the displays after school from 3:15-4:15 or later in the day from 6:00-7:00. Questions? Email cheri.spies@ridgeline.org or send a note.

Lunch at chapala’s: Our annual Cinco de Mayo luncheon is scheduled for Friday, May 1. Family members are welcome to join us. Lunch is $5.50 + (tip) .50 = $6.00 per person. Menu choices are limited and listed on the attached permission form. We will ride the LTD bus to Amazon Park and walk from the park to the restaurant. All Ridgeline students will ride the bus. Adults can either drive and meet us at Amazon Park or join us on the bus. After lunch we plan to walk back to Amazon Park and spend time at the “Dinosaur” playground, weather permitting. The class will leave Ridgeline at 10:20 and arrive at Chapala’s around 11:00 AM, eating early to avoid the lunch rush. Please complete the attached permission form and return it to school. For student scholarship information, call the Ridgeline office 541-681-9662.

Calling all summer birthdays! I’d like students with summer birthdays to have an opportunity to celebrate with their class. Please contact me and we’ll plan a time when your student’s special day can be shared. The children so enjoy seeing photos and hearing stories about their classmate’s early years. To schedule your student’s ‘walk around the sun’, e-mail or send in a note.

MAY IS BIKE & WALK TO SCHOOL MONTH – Please encourage your student to walk, bike, or use another non-motor powered means of transportation. Even walking a few blocks counts for those traveling a long distance. Students will ‘record’ their mode of transportation daily.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN BENEFIT CONCERT: Laura Wayte, soprano, UO voice professor, and proud Ridgeline mom has charmed audiences in Eugene, performed with Eugene Symphony, Oregon Mozart Players, Eugene Opera and in recital, will be donating her talent to raise funds for the Capital Campaign. Laura will perform with pianist Nathalie Fortin, presenting American folksongs from Appalacia, ballads from England and a love story from Norway, 7:30 pm, Friday, April 24 at the home of Tina & Hiro Matsuno. The cost is a donation to Ridgeline’s Capital Campaign. To reserve a seat, contact Tina Matsuno: 541-343-1974 or tinamatsuno@yahoo.com.
