QUIET SPACE SUPPORT/TUTOR NEEDED: We’re looking for volunteers who have time in the morning to support students working in a quiet space outside of the classroom. Students may be working on individual work plans, on quiet partner work, or on group projects. The volunteer would introduce herself or himself, ask the children what they’re working on, stay close by to help when needed, and help maintain an attitude of focus in the space. Please contact Cynthia if you’re interested.

STARTING SOON: SOCIAL SKILLS CURRICULUM FROM THE UO
Two University of Oregon externs will be visiting our classroom over a period of 4-6 weeks to teach a social skills unit that they are designing specially for our students here at Ridgeline. Please contact Principal Sharon Martin if you have any questions:

CULTURAL STUDIES: The students have nearly finished their Rainforest Biome work. Just wait until you see their amazingly detailed dioramas. Next we’ll study the Grasslands Biome. If you have books or materials, please consider sharing with the classroom. In zoology we’ve wrapped up our study of reptiles and will begin birds. Dr. Montessori said “Birds were the first animals to bring family love to the world…” because birds stay and care for their young after birth J
