THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!! Many thanks to the parent volunteers that have helped make Ridgeline school a wonderful place to teach and to learn. We so appreciate you. Volunteers, please come to the school library Friday from 8:30-9:30 and enjoy a special treat of tea and sweet goodies prepared just for you. 

PUPPET SHOW: The Jordan Schnitzer Museum Puppet Theater will present a special Japanese style puppet show for our students on April 22 at 1:00 pm. A donation of $1.00 per student is requested. Please send one dollar to school with your student by Monday, April 21. If you would like scholarship information, please call the office (541-681-9662) 

SING WITH THE EUGENE CHOIR: Please save the date! Thanks to the Eugene Concert Choir Outreach Program (ECCO), students at Ridgeline will have the opportunity to perform on stage at the Hult Center. The music education director will visit our classroom and teach the song; ‘This Land is My Land’. She will also leave a CD with which to practice. Students that participate will receive two free passes to attend the performance and join the choir on stage when their song is sung! The Hult Center performance is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, at 11:00am. Information fliers and free passes will be sent home this week. Questions? Please email or send a note. 

CURRICULUM SHARING: The second Curriculum Sharing this year is scheduled for Thursday, May 8. Please come with your child and let them show you some favorite classroom activities. Join us any time between 3:15-4:15 and 6:00-7:00pm. 

VOLCANOES: In connection with our study of volcanoes, the children are learning about igneous rocks with science teacher, Iris Green. If you have materials or books that support this learning, please consider sharing. 

BOTANY: Seeds have special ‘lunch bags’ for their embryos called cotyledons. Some seeds produce one ‘lunch bag’, and are called monocots. Other seeds produce two ‘lunch bags’ and are referred to as dicots. Ask your student to tell you more! 

HOMEWORK: Please return homework packets Friday.
