SMARTER BALANCED TESTING EXPLAINED: 3rd grade parents and others interested in learning about the new state test, Smarter Balanced, are invited to attend this informative meeting. Students in grades 3-8 across the 4J district will take the test this Spring. Meeting begins at 6:30. Please call Ridgeline’s office for additional information. 541-681-9662
Geography: The students are learning about land and water forms. Younger children are learning the names and definitions of particular land forms (island, peninsula, cape, plateau, etc.). Older students will learn about famous landforms and use an atlas or globe to find land forms of the continents. If you have books or materials that support this learning please consider sharing.
History: As part of the Montessori curriculum all students learn about the fundamental needs of humans, what we need to live and the way in which these needs are met. The physical needs such as clothing, shelter and food are studied first. We look at how these needs have been met throughout history and in various habitats.
